It was a cold and miserable night for me i felt like i went threw hell these last couple days(literally i have) but anyways…, So me and the infamous Adam Warped decided to journey into the night to frolic amongst the red river crowd..crowd i say… i wish there was .. we arrived at the scene about 11ish thinking it would be packed to the gills, surprisingly there were like 3 or 4 people in the whole place. We both kinda scratched our heads and decided to hop to the next room of sex and alcohol.
As we entered the next room of pleasures, i was greeted by one of my favorite people at plush, John! (love this guy) anyways as i knocked down a couple of club sodas and heard a few beats from ram-z and crew we decided to head back to Barbarella(a young lady informed Adam that Frankis status on FB said he had landed and was on way) so naturally we headed back thinking it should have picked up.Well it didn’t, but none the less we saw one of our fav DJ, Simon, aka Prepmode and we started chatting him up to kill the time, there was a really good dj on called Hoddie Allen that was grinding it.. not bad not bad..
So as I’m in my usual position of staring at a screen and typing a way i look up and see no other than my Richard Henry and Franki Chan enter the building, amongst other . So i naturally greeted my homie Richard and said a quick hello to Franki and informed him that the interview that we had done before hand at beauty bar was basically no good cause the mic was bad, but we did transcribe it as best as we could ..(seems like i went threw hell trying to get an interview with Franki i even had a person in LA but the film guy flaked on us,,,, ugg so embarrassing .. anyways as he got on the decks more people started to com in and it started to actually fill up a bit.. over all it cheered up my night and Franki threw down some nice beats.. and the crowd was small and intimate couldn’t have asked for a better night to put a smile on my face..
2 thumbs up for Barbarella and Franki Chan!

DJ Czech One
Yes its confirmed Larry Tee will be Joining us for our Texas tour celebrating the New Single “Cocaine Nose Job” from the up coming album “Known Unknown” From POSR
The reviews are in for Club Badd, the debut album of original material from DJ Larry Tee. DJ Mag declares Larry the “Andy Warhol of dance music” and describes the sound as “packing more attitude than Lily Allen on a bad hair day.” NME describes it as a vivacious mix of booty bass and disposable techno” and gives it a 6 star rating..and his picture and interview is top left on DMC update with an interview in IDJ, a feature in M8, as well as amazing coverage in Playboy, Q, Time Out London and New York, the cover of London’s BOYZ, the cover of NYC’s HX, and way too many to mention. But the positive reviews have created a buzz like no other time in Larry Tee’s legendary career! So now…… Welcome To Club Badd!
Club Badd is the name of New York nightclub legend Larry Tee’s album that features some of the world’s most over-sized personalities and is a celebration of the YouTube generation. With appearances by Princess Superstar, Perez Hilton, Roxy Cottontail, Amanda LePore, Hervé, Sébastien Léger, Tomboy, Afrojack (Laidback Luke and Diplo are playing his “Let’s Make Nasty” mix), Fukkk Offf, Chewy Cholcolate Cookies, Princess Julia, Christopher Just, Mel Merio, Jodie Harsh, Jeffree Star, and 7-year-old video star Amanita, it is by far the most outrageous collection EVER! The Club Badd assault started with the UK single release of his collaboration with Princess Superstar called “Licky.” Already a chart hit in Germany and Australia, it features slamming mixes by Hervé, Vandalism, Sébastien Léger, and Kris Menace and as well as a special guest appearance by Santigold on the version used on the Steve Aoki album. It has been played by everyone: Justice, Erol Alkan, Armand Van Helden, Laurent Garnier, Judge Jools, Pete Tong, Steve Aoki (it’s on his top 20 Billboard Electronic Album), and it’s on Ed Banger’s Busy P mix CD. The second single, “I Love U” is already being used as an intro for Steve Aoki and MSTRKRFT’s live sets with a Ghostface Killer vocal drop, as well as being banged by super-jock Jesse Rose. Club Badd, which is out now, is not only a dance party album extrodinaire, but it is also like “YouTube/Myspace.com, The Musical.” It harnesses the energy of the world’s current fascination with all the madness of the internet generation.
Larry Tee hails from Atlanta, Georgia where he was friends with REM and his first group, the Fans, produced the B-52s’ first independent single “Rock Lobster/52 Girls.” He moved to NYC with fellow Atlantans RuPaul and Lady Bunny and quickly took over the NYC club scene with his epic party Love Machine. He started and named the infamous DISCO 2000 of Party Monster movie fame, DJ’ed the ROXY weekly, and co-wrote the Billboard Top 40 song Rupaul’s “Supermodel (You Better Work).” In 1997 Larry Tee got clean from drugs and alcohol and decided to re-examine his life and career. He turned to music for inspiration and championed a new sound and movement which became the Electroclash phenomenon. He created the term “Electroclash” for his festivals in 2001/2002 (it’s in the Oxford English Dictionary) which helped launch the careers of Scissor Sisters, Felix Da Housecat, 2 Many DJs/Soulwax, Peaches and many more.
Fast forward to 2009 and we see Larry Tee traveling all over the world bringing his unique sound and exclusive tracks to festivals and cool nightclubs worldwide. He has played alongside Kraftwerk, The Gorillas, New Order, LCD Soundsystem, N*E*R*D, Chemical Brothers, The Cure, Katy Perry and Fatboy Slim in festivals like Bennicassim, Global Gathering, Mysterylands, Primavera, and Summercase and his international schedule has grown with his Beatport success (The Crooker’s have his new single in their top 10 on Beatport). New videos for “Licky”, “I Love U” (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hqgC6VYwH3M), the Perez Hilton’s track, Hipster Girl and Amanda Lepore plus an exclusive re-edit of Kelly’s “Shoes” for YouTube give the the album a visual side like no other album today! The next single, “I Love U,” featuring 7-year-old Amanita has already been remixed by Bart B More, Christopher Just, and The Bulgarian and has just been released worldwide. Club Badd is set to be the “Girls Gone WIld” of 2009, meaning the runaway surprise hit that took the country by storm. Join Club Badd and make this the year of the Party People!!

By far this was one of the most memorable shows to me this year because every track rocked ! Chris Casual early this month had hipped me on to them but i really hadn’t payed much attention until 2 weeks ago . To me there like 20 20 vision meets Siouxie reminded me allot of Random Factors earlier stuff and 2020 visons sound (that they so strayed away from
but with an updated twist!

Woke up this morning and stepped into a pile of fluff. What? Ah, River, my girlfriend’s dog, just chewed through part of the couch. I nudge her awake and she checks on him under the bed, then I hear her try to grab something away, then I hear River growl, then I hear her say ‘he’s got your wallet!’ This is when I really wake up. Somehow, my money survived. I take this as a sign that it’s going to be a good day, and with that thought I curl back up under the covers to sleep off the hangover.
Final Memories from Yesterday
They are; listening to a Peter, Bjorn and John remix on the way to taking Chris Casual home and having the song end just as we pull up in front of his east-side house. Making a playlist on my ipod at Side Bar because they let you play 20 minutes of music. My first mix was well received by the wheel-chaired host (really, he’s on a wheelchair. He’s also from detroit. that’s all i can remember). The playlist:
Song – Band
Midnight Blues – Detroit Cobras
Roberta Flack – Flying Lotus
Get Off Of My Cloud – the Rolling Stones
You Only Live Once – the Strokes
Cool It Down – the Velvet Underground
A Means to an End – Joy Division
Hang Me Up to Dry – Cold War Kids
Flight of the Knife (Part Two) – Bryan Scary and the Shredding Tears
Chris Casual said, ‘You know the next song is going to be good because you picked it.’ I knew the next song was going to be good because I was on four Jack and waters.
I thought it was a good idea to grab a drink on the way to Chris’ place, and the bars on Red River are my favorite ones. Creekside, Side Bar, Beauty Bar and Plush are all clustered in staggering distance to each other, and Headhunters and Mohawk are just around the corner. These bars have the added benefit of being just a wee bit away from sixth street, so there’s a reduction of drunken coed factor – which is crucial. Drunken frat boys and coeds BAD. Drunken hipsters – passable. Being able to play your ipod at Side Bar on mondays – GOOD!
More Memories
Monday was the day Chris Casual came by the house to learn the songs. Its been a while since Jake and I have jammed, so I was pretty rusty. Good thing I kept notes. Bad thing that it was me keeping the notes; it seemed that every time I needed the tabs for the songs, they were hidden within a sheaf of social security office paperwork (what the hell was that paperwork doing in my gig bag?). Chris was SOLID. He picked up the songs quickly and he played perfectly on time. He’s going to be great. He also cuts hair, and was loving the bass playing because it was a slightly different motion than what he does all day. By god, keep that wrist in one piece, please – WE NEED YOU!!
Jake squeezed a couple of new tracks from his glitchy laptop and they sound superb. They’re fast, catchy, dancy, and in your face. Lap it up, people!
We wrapped practice after Chris got a general idea of the bass lines. Then we went upstairs and my girlfriend had him take his shirt off for some photos for her class. Maybe we’ll post them up. Maybe we’ll charge for them.
After their little photo session was when we headed off for a drink. And talked about the impending tour. And whether we would be selling t-shirts on the road to survive. Or if there was a bus with champagne on it waiting for us. Who knows? Jake gave me the contract and I promptly gave it back – which I thought was pretty rock and roll. And not very smart. Still, rock & roll. Still not smart. Which came first?
So here it is; my first blog entry for the hungry masses. I hope I get a copy of the Joy Division discography for this (which Jake mentioned he had).
